So much for "deleted scene". xD Well, it makes a nice opening to an extra I almost cancelled, so here it is. Now that I've uploaded this, how come these "extras" are getting more and more important...?

Since Unova is based on the west, it makes sense that the ancient language would be Latin, right? No? Either way, the Dragons might talk in Latin sometimes.

Credits to an awesome reader, Shawn, for the Latin translation!

I think laitn fit perfectlyas an ancient language. And gretc conversation they have here.

I am glad you decided to use 'he' for Zekky. To be honest, I always mentally assign genderless pokemon a gender based on their descriptions. Zekrom always seemed male, and Reshiram always seemed female. In the same way, Mew and Mewtwo male. For some reason. I would never dare to call a pink pokemon as 'male', but for some reason Mew looks like a five year old boy. :/

Amazing. I thought I won't see much Zekrom (Whom I prefer over Reshiram.) in this comic, because it is a black nuzlocke. So thanks. =)

Reply crazybob, September 11th, 2012, 3:34 am

so he now knows N is being treated like a pawn.

Reply pipipipi, September 11th, 2012, 3:46 am

@Shadow Raikou: Oh you'd definitely see Zekrom more often than Reshiram. :D I wish Reshiram could appear more often but noooo...

By the way, Reshiram, even if described as "beautiful", has always seemed male to me. So Reshiram will be a 'he', too. Sorry if that might make anyone feel weird?

Reply Lady Darkrina, September 11th, 2012, 4:10 am

Well I have to say, Zekrom's always been the cooler one in my books. Although I've always seen Mew as a female Pokemon because of the fact that it's pink and it's always playful and mischievous.

I agree with you on that though Pipipipi, Reshiram to me has always been a male on my part also, because I think both Zeke and Resh look like males in my opinion.

Reply Shadow Raikou, September 11th, 2012, 4:12 am

@pipipipi: Really? That is actually strange. Also, your effects are awesome. Love the colored ones. Zekrom's electricity, sand, just pure awesomeness.

Really? Not weird, actually. Now that I think about it, I can relate the energy dragons to the Striaton Trio. Since I believe Kyurem to be male as well.

...Relating them to the Striaton Trio makes sense. Scary.

Reply Shadow Raikou, September 11th, 2012, 4:15 am

@Lady Darkrina: Same. I love the ice and the flames, but blue electricity. Blue electricity. Nobody can dislike THAT. (After all these years watching that freaking mouse of a Pikachu use thunderbolt, blue electricity seems cooler.)

I always see Mew and Mewtwo as 'Brothers', actually. But again, that is my opinion. Also, I think in Mewtwo Strikes Back, they did say that Mew gave birth to Mewtwo. >_>

I feel like N should be doing a parody of 'I'm on a Boat' called, 'I'm on a Dragon'. Because N is a boss like that.

Reply Dracogryff (Guest), September 11th, 2012, 9:42 am

To get technical on the male/female thing, Reshiram is associated with Yang, which resonates with masculinity (and day/light), while Zekrom is associated with Yin, which resonates with femininity (and night/dark). Not that it really matters to perceptions (I initially looked at Reshi as feminine a bit until I *cough* checked between the legs, so to speak), of course. *g* I'm fine with either gender assigned to either one.

Mystery Dungeon tends to help in regards to the gender-pronoun thing.

But no Gen V mystery dungeon yet.

Or Gen V Ranger.

...They're not abandoning the spin-offs, are they?

Reply Lady Darkrina, September 11th, 2012, 11:43 am

@Shadow Raikou: Yeah I know, but I've always found it sort of confusing that when Mewtwo was created from Mew's DNA, he looks completely different to Mew and the fact that he wasn't actually born from two parents he was created by scientists in an experiment. So how exactly can they say Mew gave birth to him?

Reply RioluMasters (Guest), September 11th, 2012, 11:45 am

It kinda looked like N was sitting on Zekrom's backside O<>O

Reply Soul Moony, September 11th, 2012, 11:55 am

Umm i think latin is perfect... aaaandddd... Unova is based on the west?? ha i didnt know that xD Anyway, why does always something with no gender has to be called he?? umm... but on second tought it would be very funny if N called Zekrom a she xD

Reply Miles Hikari, September 11th, 2012, 2:11 pm

I think the Latin fits perfectly, and I really enjoyed the conversation they where having. You do a great job at ringing characters to life.

Reply Shawn (Guest), September 11th, 2012, 3:31 pm

@Soul Moony: Not everything that is without gender is called "he"; don't forget that ships (even ones with masculine names) are always referred to as "she."

But in my opinion, I think that we tend to default to "he" because that is the way that we have been conditioned to speak. Until recently, whenever one talked about a person in general, one always used the general "he." For example, in that last clause, I could have easily typed "he always used the general 'he.'"

Reply Lockman, September 11th, 2012, 4:33 pm

I like the use of Latin here.

Reply Porygon (Guest), September 11th, 2012, 6:04 pm

Fun fact: It is revealed in B2/W2 that N, Anthea, and Concordia are all children Ghetsis adopted. Just an idea of something you may want to put in your comic. : )

Reply Catfeather, September 11th, 2012, 6:13 pm

@pipipipi: Beautiful works to describe males! Actually, I've always thought of the legendaries as more male, even Mew and Shaymin. Cresselia and Meloetta are the only I've seen as female in nature.

Good use of Latin, by the way. It seems highly appropriate. :D
Very much looking forward to more. :DDD

Reply sakohju, September 11th, 2012, 7:08 pm

Zekrom speaks Latin!!
I've always wondered if Pokémon could speak other languages.

And I always refer to Zekrom as "he". I just feel like it's a more masculine Pokémon. And Kyurem. Reshiram is...still rather genderless to me, I refer to it as either...although when I drew a ginjinka of it I did draw it as a female. I always think of Mew as female and Mewtwo as male. The only legendaries that actually have genders in the games though are Latios, Latias, Cresselia, Heatran, Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus. I think Meloetta's female too, but I'm not sure.

Reply Porygon (Guest), September 11th, 2012, 7:41 pm

@sakohju: Meloetta is genderless.

Reply pipipipi, September 11th, 2012, 11:18 pm

@Porygon: I've known that, actually, but... Can you--and the rest of you--please not talk about BW2? I'm the type that hates spoilers, so please... I'd rather not be spoiled more than I am right now ;w;

Reply pipipipi, September 11th, 2012, 11:20 pm

Reading all your interpretations about the legendaries' genders is interesting! :D I think because I've seen plenty of gijinkas, I can see the legendaries being either gender.

About the whole "Mew gave birth to Mewtwo" thing... I've always assumed that's the shortened version of "the scientists managed to create a clone from the DNA of Mew, and thus, Mewtwo is born from Mew".

@Soul Moony: The developers stated that Isshu/Unova is based on the US XD Castelia City is obviously based on New York!

Reply Porygon (Guest), September 12th, 2012, 3:30 pm

@pipipipi: Absolutely! It's only natural that people would like to avoid spoiler-y stuff. Anyway, keep up the good work! This is easily one of the best Nuzlockes I've ever read, especially with all of the little details you've managed to put in to the story. ^_^

Reply Sea-Salt, September 12th, 2012, 6:12 pm

@pipipipi: Well, actually, with real-life cloning, the clone embryo would just be inserted into the host "mother" to finish the whole development thing naturally. So Mew still could have given live birth to Mewtwo. It's actually a subject I plan on touching on in the comic I'm working on.

Anyway, hate that my first comment on your comic is just nerdy stuff like that. XD;; ...Love the comic, though; one of the best Pokemon comics in general that I've read!

Reply Captain LeBubbles, September 12th, 2012, 9:47 pm

True story: The designers intended Zekrom to be the masculine dragon, and for Reshiram to be the feminine dragon.

Gender Perceptions I've always seen Zekrom as male and Reshiram as female. Although I think that's because, as I played White, Zekrom was the dragon of Truth and Reshiram the dragon of Ideals... So I always saw "her" as a bubbly and optimistic heroine and "him" as the calmer and more logical, but less friendly, hero.

Reply belxebu, October 11th, 2012, 11:48 pm

Curiously since I learned that they were suppose to be based in the Yin nd Yang, Ive seen Zekrom (Yin) like female and Reshiram (Yang) like Male

Personally, I always thought of Reshiram as the kind of pokemon that could believably be either male or female.

Reply ShinySerperior (Guest), May 21st, 2015, 5:21 pm

@Shadow Raikou: I think of them both as males.
